Perched
high on a mountainside overlooking the Golfo Dulce and Osa
Peninsula, the enchanting Morphose Mountain Retreat awaits
your arrival.
Conveniently located just 45 minutes
from Golfito airport, Morphose offers easy access to both the
ocean and high~altitude plantations and forests. Surrounded by
jungle, guests will delight in exploring Costa Rica's natural
beauty in a secluded setting with a cool, comfortable
climate. Morphose is an environmentally~friendly
establishment utilizing solar~powered heating and rainwater
reclamation systems, and natural
ventilation.
Wildlife abounds at Morphose, from
iridescent Morpho butterflies, to comical toucans and nosy
coati mundis. Troops of white~faced and squirrel monkeys
occasionally pass through, and the distinctive trogon call can
often be heard. The flora is equally impressive, with brightly
colored heliconias, bromeliads and orchids creating a feast
for the eyes.
Morphose offers distinctive
accommodations in its Balinese style guest house. With custom~
carved wall sculptures and high rattan ceilings, guests can
relax and unwind in comfort and style. A wide terrace looks
down on the Valle del Coto Colorado and the town of Ciudad
Neily, whose lights at night mirror the star~studded sky
above.
Just steps
away from the guest house is the stunning Morphose Restaurant,
featuring a tropical fusion of French and local cuisine. A
private a la carte breakfast is included for guest house
visitors, and lunches and dinners can be reserved
separately.
For those who wish to venture out
beyond the Morphose grounds, a wide variety of authentic
activities can be arranged that highlight some of the best of
what Costa Rica has to offer.
Mophose is owned and operated by Kate
and Patrick Desvenain and their six year-old son, Lucas.
With his French culinary background, Patrick reigns in the
kitchen, while Kate concentrates on tour guiding and bird
watching. Luc is great at offering comic relief and
translating Costa Rica-isms. They are fluent in
English, French and Spanish.
